MEM Projects

Marine Energy Industry Introduction - 2009/10

The decision to enter the Marine Energy supply chain is a daunting one for any organisation particularly where there is a lack of available independent information/ knowledge about technologies and the developing market place. Requested to help Supacat, a leading defence organisation enter the marine energy market place, MEM reviewed the organisations capabilities and potential areas of operation within the marine sector.

The project involved delivering introductory seminars and discussions sessions with the management team; jointly developing the most suitable market entry area and a first steps action plan to enhance the organisations sector knowledge and market approach. Potential partners/customers were identified by MEM and introductions facilitated. Over a six month period the organisation entered into a partnership with major northern European renewable energy organisation leading to a successful award of UK public sector funding to develop and produce a prototype wave energy device. MEM continues to provide strategic marine energy advice to Supacat.
